Paintsculp

Partly because of the sculpting, but especially because of the painted three-dimensional illusions, I call this type of work Paintsculp. The Paintsculp works consist partly of sculpture and painting techniques. I try to convey emotion by processing flat wooden plates, first into two-dimensional organic shapes. After which I try to enhance the emotion by combining traditional with modern painting techniques, so that I get a three-dimensional effect. The illusion is enhanced by the use of a unique suspension system I designed, bringing an additional shadow effect into play that blends into the illusion. This makes it seem as if my painted sculptures float along the wall: The truth is in the eye of the beholder.
